Cable Grip Feed Tubes

Contact us now In addition to the extensive range of cable grips, (also known as cable socks, cable stockings, wire mesh grips or Chinese Fingers), Slingco offer a range of sundry products that are used in the electrical and utility industries.

These include cable grip feed tubes, which are used to ease the insertion of delicate, flexible or fragile cable, conductor (insulated or bare) or rope into the cable grip. Due to the tight construction of the Slingco heavy duty cable grip, we recommend the use of the Slingco Cable Feed Tubes when inserting cable or rope into the A Type Cable Grips.

The heavy duty cable grips are color coded for ease of use, and to facilitate the match up of the correct cable feed tube to the correct corresponding heavy duty cable sock, we use the same color identifier in our feed tube as we do in the cable grip.

The cable grip feed tube is inserted into the tight weave Slingco A-Type cable grip to open it up. As the cable feed tube itself is hollow and smooth, the rope or cable can be pushed through it without risk of snagging or causing the cable grip to grip the rope or cable. Once the cable has been inserted, the feed tube can be removed, allowing the cable grip to exert its grip.

Feed tubes are available in lengths from 28” to 96” (713 – 2444 mm), and are designed to fit rope diameters ranging from 0.5” to 2.1” (6 – 53 mm). Slingco A-Type High Strength Cable Grips can be used for aluminum conductor or for pulling rope and are the strongest grips in the Slingco range.

The full range of Slingco accessories to suit different mesh grips includes cable laying rollers, cable pulling lubes, line swivels and feed tubes. So if you have a cable laying, pulling or stringing application that requires cable grip sundries such as cable grip feed tubes, then please contact us either by phone, fax or email to discuss your specific requirements.
